14 févr. 1917 - Race Riots in East St. Louis
Description:
The Race Riots in East St. Louis were caused when many white workers went on strike. The employers instead of paying attention to them hired around 470 African Americans to take their positions. These created tension between the blacks and whites and turned into one of the bloodiest riots in American history. This was one of the beginnings of race tensions between the two groups.
