with great losses of Russian territory. General
Lavr Kornilov organises an anti-Bolshevik
volunteer army known as the ‘Whites’. Civil war
breaks out between the Bolshevik ‘Reds’ and
the anti-Bolshevik ‘Whites’. Tsar Nicholas II and
his family are executed.
