Description:

The great Italian victory. It was the last decisive war and victory for the italians and took place near the Piave river. The outcome of this battle was extremely important, as the soldiers who fought in it had recently been through many losses and moral was low. This incredibly successful victory was hard-fought and ended with the Austria-Hungarians losing 35,000 lives, 100,000 wounded, and 300,000 captured by the Italians. While the Italians only lost 8,500 men. This battle officially collapsed the power of the Austria-Hungarians and ended their part of the war.
