Snape can feel the small child invading his mind and confronts her. They talk it out and he agrees to teach her how to control her legilimency and how to perform occlumency. He warns her to keep it a secret. As Draco's godfather and her occasional potions tutor he's somewhat fond of her and after thinking about it decides not to tell Dumbledore as there's no reason to involve the child in the war and Dumbledore's schemes.

This is for naught as Lucithia herself signs herself up to the Order of the Phoenix as a double agent and ends up transferring to Ilvermorny to recruit more people to help during the final battle vs Voldemort. In return, the Malfoy family are exempt from Azkaban should they join Voldemort again and let off on all charges.
