1 janv. 1938 - Missouri ex rel. Gaines v. Canada (1938)
Description:
In 1938 Lloyd Gaines sued the University of Missouri for not accepting his application to the Law School. The Supreme Court upheld segregation based on race, but mandated that the state establish a Law School for Black students (at Lincoln University of Missouri). Although Gaines lost his case, it made significant strides in challenging school segregation and seeking equal funding and opportunities for all students.
