1 janv. 200 - Orbital motion of Mars.
Proposed order of planets.
Description:
In Roman Egypt, Claudius Ptolemaeus, also known as Ptolemy, attempted to figure out the orbital motion of Mars. He proposed the new order of the planets, by increasing distance: the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Sun, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and the fixed stars. Ptolemy's planetary system and his collective work on astronomy became the authoritative treatise for the next 14 centuries.
