5 oct. 1877 - Nez Perce Indian War
Description:
This battle was long and taxing to the Indians as 4000 soldiers defended mercilessly against their attacks. The leader of the tribe, Chief Joseph, ended up surrendering to Colonel Nelson Miles because he was tired of fighting. The significance of the event can be seen in the way that the U.S. showed sheer force in dealing with the Natives as they kicked them out of their home, with little damage to themselves.
