Description:

On April 8, 1865 the siege of Fort Blakely accord showing the African Americans as a big part of this siege and capture. Even though Mobile Bay was captured by the confederacy the Union now was trying to capture Fort Blakely that had lost a lot of protection. On the Confederates side there was only 4,000 versus the 13,000 men the Union had. After an attempt of keeping a good fight, General Lee decided to surrender leaving the Union victorious and in control of Fort Blakely.
