Zheng Zu, a Buddhist monk began spreading the Shí huán zhī dào, or Way of the Ten Rings, the worship of a millenarian eschatology and a voluntary path of salvation. They were an offshoot White Lotus sect, primarily worshipping Wusheng Laomu. Zheng Zu became obsessed with finding Kunlun and obtaining immortality.
