1 juin 1549 - Kett's Rebellion
Description:
Caused by economic and social problems stemming from a poor harvest and increasing cost of living. Mostly peaceful protest against enclosure. Gangs broke enclosures (may-jun). Robert Kett gave up his enclosures and led the rebels. The rebellion set up near Norwich and Kett had 15,000 men available if attacked.
Shut down by the Earl of Warwick after a confrontation leading to 4000 dead
