The National Security Council Paper #68, or NSC-68, was an important, top secret American policy paper that would effect how our country fights the Cold War for decades. This paper stated that the Soviet Union is dangerously hungry for expansion and they must be contained. In order to do this, the paper stated America must immensely expand their military and nuclear projects.
