Description:
Peter Quill, at first was excited to finally meet his father, quickly realizes he's not who he thinks he is.Ego tells Peter he is a Celestial, a god-like being and that Ego, through the millenia he's been alive, has created his own planet.
Ego also reveals he slept with thousands of beings across the universe in hopes that one child would have the Celestial gene, which Peter has.
After learning Ego purposefully killed his mother, Peter and the Guardians of the Galaxy fight Ego and his planet, and blow up the core of the planet, getting rid of Ego's god-like powers, along with Peter's.
While fleeing the collapsing planet, Yondu sacrifices himself in order to save Peter.
The Sovereign, who have perfected gene replication, create Adam Warlock, who is designed to kill the Guardians of the Galaxy.
