The battles of Lexington and concord official started the revolutionary war. This conflict occurred when hundreds of British soldiers marched to Lexington to intercept an arms cache. Paul Revere caught word of this and colonial solders marched down to stop the British soldiers. Shots were fired when the two armys met in Lexington and the colonists sent the british into retreat. This bloodshed lead to the 2nd continental congress.
