Description:

The sugar act of 1764 was also know as the American revenue act. Great Britain stated that new provisions and regulations will be established to improve revenue for the kingdom. There would now be a 3% tax on all sugar and it would be enforced strictly. This was another way the British were trying to control the colonies and show power. When Great Britain received back lash from the colonies about this they only added more tax. The new tax would be know as the stamp act of 1765.
