Description:

This proclamation was issued after the French Indian war. King George issued this and it forbid colonial settlement west of the Appalachian Mountain chain. This forced the colonists to stay in close to the east coast and did not allow for any expansion. This is an example of Great Britain wanting to control the colonies. It made colonists very angry because they want nothing to do with kind George or GB. This went even further when great Britain introduced the sugar act of 1764.
