1 janv. 1973 - occupation of Wounded Knee, South Dakota- 200 members of local Oglala Lakota Indians, led by AIM members, seized the village of Wounded Knee declaring it to be an independent nation with a single demand of the return of the Great Sioux Nation allegedly promised to them by the United States in the Fort Laramie Treaty of 1868.
