Description:

At 2:30 am, the prisoners are awakened by a loud whistle, the first of many “Counts” is about to take place. A count is when each prisoner repeats their identification number over and over again until that number is the only thing they know themselves and each other by. While the first “count” was not bad given the guards and prisoners were still new to the roles assigned to them, however that first count is not a great representation of any future counts. Push-ups were common in the first days as prisoners, used to teach the prisoners to not break any rules. However, this day is really the only mild day that happens in this experiment.
