Description:
NATO was a peacetime military alliance, placing the United States, Canada, Britain and the nations of western Europe in a defensive security arrangement with eachother. During the Cold War, NATO forces provided a frontline deterrence against the Soviet Union and its satellite states. Today, NATO is a very important peacekeeping force based in the USA providing relief to places all aroung the world.
