The space shuttle challenger was a disaster which took the lives of 7 people. On January 28th, 1986, when the space shuttle challenger (ov-099) broke 73 seconds into its flight. It exploded because of the failure of the O-ring seal in one of the two solid-fuel rockets. The O-ring did not work as expected because of the cold temperature at launch time. Seven crew members aboard were killed there were no survivors. The people who died Francis R Scobee the Commander,

Christa McAuliffe a Payload Specialist and Teacher. This space craft disintegrated over the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of cape Canaveral, Florida.
