 - Baishakhi celebration; martial law was already imposed
- a peaceful protest against the arrest of 2 national leaders  i.e Satyapal and Saifuddin Kitchlew under the Rowlett Act
- Michael O'Dwyer was then the  Lieutenant Governor of Punjab --> gave orders for killings --> Udham Singh assassinated him later
- Rabindranath Tagore renounced his knighthood, Gandhi Ji gave up his Kaiser-i-Hind bestowed to him for his work during 2nd Boer War
- Disorders Inquiry Committee or Hunter Committee was formed ---> 3 Indians among the members
