To get the troops that were in the bulge, General Patton ordered Allied planes to bomb German fuel deposits.
By Christmas, the Germans were out of fuel to use for their tanks and suffered heavy losses. Soon after, the allies stepped foot onto Germany. With little amount of supplies or fuel the German troops could not defend against the allies.
