The 19th Amendment gave women the right to vote in 1920 (about time!). The Suffrage Movement directly caused the creation of this amendment as people like Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton, fought for women's rights to vote and were the original authors of the amendment. Before the amendment some states awarded complete suffrage to women, others partial, and still others none at all. After decades of protesting, persuading, and promoting, the influential women (and men) of Americas suffrage movement got their wish with the ratification of the 19th amendment. With a new sense of freedom that followed the ratification of the 19th amendment, women began to be bolder in the jobs they took which was only applified by WWI when hundreds of jobs opened up to women that were once only for men
