21 juill. 1861 - The Battle of Bull Run
Description:
The Battle of Bull Run was the second conflict in the Civil War following the beginning attack on Fort Sumter. This battle began with the Union forces march from Washington D.C. to attack the Confederate soldiers along a river formerly known as Bull Run. The Union troops were forced to retreat back after the Confederates managed to break their line, however with such a weak army the Confederates were unable to following the retreating Confederate army. The battle of Bull Run is important because it gave the Confederates false hope about winning battles fast and led to the conflict known as Fort Donelson.
