5 avr. 1764 - Sugar Act
Description:
The Sugar Act was passed on April 5th, 1764 by the Parliament of Great Britain. The Sugar Act lowered the duty on foreign molasses from six pence per gallon to three pence per gallon, in hopes to discourage smuggling. This is important because it led to the regulation of money called the Currency Act.
