4 juill. 1863 - Battle of Vicksburg
Description:
Often discussed as a partner to Gettysburg, Vicksburg was the other half of the pivotal point of the war. General Grant tried to bottle Vicksburg but the South were well entrenched. The North ultimately constructed trenches to combat them, and were victorious. The North lost just 5,000 men to the South's 33,000, which also signified the tide change. At this point, the Union was moving toward a victory, but it wasn't yet a sure thing.
