2 juill. 1890 - Sherman Anti-Trust Act

Description:

Named for Senator John Sherman of Ohio, the Sherman Antitrust Act curbed the power of big businesses to interfere with trade and reduce economic competition. It had two main parts: one to outlaws things that restrict trade between states or with foreign nations and one to outlaw attempts to monopolize trade or commerce in the United States. The Act came about because at the time, big businesses were hurting consumers by driving up prices and otherwise controlling the market. Though the Act has seen a lot of criticism, most see it to have benefited consumers.
