16 déc. 1773 - Boston Tea Party (event 9)

Description:

On the same night that the Tea Act was put in place (December 16, 1773) a group of colonists disguised as Native Americans threw three British ships full of 342 chests of tea into the harbor. This is known as the Boston Tea Party.

Some colonial leaders offered to pay for the tea if Parliament agreed to repeal the Tea Act, but Britain would not compromise. This decision pushed many Americans into rebellion.
