4 août 1914 - Britain sends an ultimatum to Germany

Description:

Just after 19:00 the British ambassador, Goschen, went to see the German ambassador with the ultimatum. The German ambassador blamed Britain for "all the terrible events that might happen", but Goschen protested that it was a matter of honour for Britain to protect Belgium's neutrality.
