He was 41 when he became king. He died at 58. He reigned over Israel for 17 years. The Judeans sinned under his reign and made God very mad. The kingdom of Judah was ruled by David’s line and was unbroken. The rest of the book of Melachim is about the various kings that follow, all of which are children of David.
