5 avr. 1764 - Sugar Act (event 2)
Description:
The Sugar Act was passed by the Britsh Parliament on the American Colonies. The act was an attempt to raise the revenue of British sugar, molasses and other products. It reduced the Colonist tax on molasse; however, it increased the enforcement of taxes.
Parliament passed both the Sugar and Stamp Acts in attempt to help pay off debt from French and Indian War. The Colonists were angered by the taxes and saw them as an attack on their political rights.
