1 janv. 1803 - John Dalton's Solid Sphere Model
Description:
Dalton recognised that atoms of a particular element differed from other elements, proposing 4 points:
1. All matter is made of atoms, which are indivisible.
2. All atoms of a given element are identical in mass and properties.
3. Compounds are combinations of two or more different types of atoms.
4. A chemical reaction is a rearrangement of atoms.
Dalton based his theory on the law of conservation of mass and the law of constant composition through his experiment with gases. Based on his observations, Dalton discovered that certain gases could only be combined in certain proportions
Limitation: Atoms aren't indivisible—they're composed from subatomic particles.
