1 janv. 1861 - Discovery of Archaeopteryx
Description:
In 1861, the first Archaeopteryx skeleton, which was missing most of its head and neck, was unearthed near Langenaltheim, Germany. Archaeopteryx was a small theropod dinosaur that lived around 150 million years ago, during the Tithonian stage of the late Jurassic period of the Mesozoic era; and was the first ever discovered transitional fossil organism, an organism that shows the intermediate states between an ancestral form and that of its descendants.
