1 janv. 1581 - That Nothing Is Known
Description:
Quod nihil scitur
by Francisco Sanches.
Uses skeptic arguemtns but presents proto-empiricism.
An attack on (Aristotelian) knowledge.
A thoroughgoing nominalism.
First mantion of a "scientific method".
A science must be of particulars, based on observation. More pragmatic and humble, less metaphysical:
"Sanches was the first Renaissance sceptic to conceive of science in its modern form, as the fruitful activity about the study of nature that remained after one had given up the search for absolutely certain knowledge of the nature of things."
