Louis Pasteur was responsible for inventing Bacteriology and microbiology by proving the presence of bacteria in fermentation. He was able to revolutionize the alcohol and dairy industries for the rest of history. With this, the presence of bacteria in any material was made aware to the majority and hygiene increased. He also cured Rabies and anthrax through new vaccines.
