1080 - 1141 - ראשוניםר׳ יהודה הלוי, or ריה׳׳ל lived from 1080 to around 1141. He lived during the time of the invasion of the Almovarids and Almohades, which gave him a unique the ideal setting and manner in which Jews should live. This is heavily reflected in his philosophical work, הכוזרי. Besides for his work in philosophy, ריה׳׳ל was also a prolific writer and poet who wrote many פיותים and other poems.
