stalin sought to improve relations with western european powers to counter growing militarism in nazi germanyalthough they were still mindful of the western intervention during the russian revolution and their anti soviet agenda
however rejected by britain and france and they used policy of appeasement in dealing with hitler, also LON was too weak to overcome german ambitions
