Date: April 14, 1865On the evening of April 14, 1865, Lincoln was at a play at Ford's Theatre with his wife, Mary Todd, when an actor named John Wilkes Boothe. This was only five days after Robert E. Lee surrendered his troops in Appomattoz Court House, VA. Lincoln died shortly after he was shot.
