the proclamation started because the Native Americans were worried about the constant new settlers in the west... since the Native, a. helped them. to calm the Native A., King George 3 made a proclamation that forbids them to settle west of Appalachian Mountains.
this proclamation was to satisfy the Native A. and reduce future Indian attacks.
but some settlers already proclaimed the line so there were not willing to give up their land.
the proclamation of 1763 failed for that reason.
