Description:
When parliamentary elections did not form a majority government, Hindenburg reluctantly swayed to popular demand and appointed Hitler as chancellor of Germany. Former chancellor Papen, who had helped push this decision on Hindenburg, was appointed vice chancellor for his help. He believed he could "tame" Hitler. He would be proven wrong.
