1 janv. 1920 - 1920's
Description:
In the 1920's it was a huge change people started owning cars, radios, and telephones for the first time. The 1920s was the first decade to get a nickname: "Roaring 20s". Women started getting more freedom, they started a stereotype called Flapper. A flapper is a girl who wore short skirts, bobbed her hair, listened to jazz and did things that were considered unacceptable behavior. Women were trying to prove that they could be as independent as men. They did what men do to prove that they are equal to men. One of the most famous people in the 1920s is Duke Ellington. He was the greatest jazz composer and bandleader of his time, he and his band stayed around 50 years. Duke Ellington gave people advice on how he was able to keep his band together "There is nothing to keeping a band together. You simply have to have a gimmick, and the gimmick I use is to pay them money!"
