1851 Sarah met with the Queen for a 4th time (January) “After luncheon Sally [Sarah] Bonita, the little African girl came with Mrs Phipps, & showed me some of her work. This is the 4th time I have seen the poor child, who is really an intelligent little thing” Sarah became a regular visitor to Windsor Castle. Sarah’s genius became admired throughout the royal court and she continued to outshine her tutors with her advanced abilities in all studies. Sarah became particularly attached to the queen’s second daughter, Princess Alice.
