22 nov 1188 - The Third Crusade Also known as the King’s Crusade, the third crusade was an attempt by European leaders to reconquer the holy land from Saladin. It was caused by the capture of Jerusalem in 1187 by Saladin who was the sultan of Egypt. The Christians were led by Richard the LionHeart.
