Description:
The Chinese Exclusion Act banned Chinese from entering the U.S. This did exclude teachers, students, tourists, merchants, and government officials. Congress then extended the law for 10 more years in 1892. Then, in 1902 immigration for the Chinese was indefinitely restricted. This law was not repealed until 1943.
