He reigned over England from 1216 to 1272. While reigning over England, he created the Magna Carta. Even though he signed the Magna Carta, he didn't actually intend to honor the it. He wanted papal assistance to revoke it, which angered the barons and resulted in the First Barons' War. Henry III was also in power when the Second Barons' War occurred.
