Description:

In attempting to gain political support for his retaking of Iolcos, Jason became engaged to marry Creusa, a daughter of Creon, the King of Corinth. Medea, furious at being forsaken despite all her actions including killing her brother, plots revenge. She presents Creusa a cursed dress, as a wedding gift, that stuck to her body and burned her to death as soon as she put it on. Creusa's father, Creon, burned to death with his daughter as he tried to save her. Medea then killed Alcimenes and Tisander and fled in a carriage sent by her grandfather Helios. Jason is forced to flee as well, eventually settling with his friend Peleus among the Myrmidons in Phthia.
