7 mai 1832 - Modern Independent Greece Established

Description:

Established on May 7th, 1832 after the war for Greeces Independence from the Ottomoman empire. All citizens of Greece shared some form of a hellenistic urge to have their own independence. Having been fostered by the Greek Orthodox Church, Greece urged for its own sense of Independence. After 10 years of fighting with the Turks, The Sultan of Turkey recognized Greek Independance in the Treaty of Constantinople.
