Description:

After a hard year of travel on the road, during which he accomplished six labors, Theseus arrives in Athens and meets his father, Aegeus, King of Athens. Medea, the Queen of Athens, convinced Aegeus that the boy must prove himself by catching the Marathonian Bull. After he is successful, and welcomed by Aegeus, Medea attempts to poison Theseus. The plot is unsuccessful, and Medea is driven from Athens with her son Medus. Returning to Colchis, Medea is shocked to discover her father dead. Medus is captured and imprisoned by Medea's uncle and now King Perses. Medea escapes to the far east.
