Description:

This settled the 1876 election with an unwritten deal. It was a negotiation in which Southern Democrats agreed to support the Republican candidate as a president for as long as federal troops left the former confederate states. Then it meant that the 14th and 15th amendments were no longer able to be enforced through federal power and are considered to be the end of Reconstruction.
