1 janv. 330 - Capital moved from Rome to Constantinople
Description:
Constantine I (r. 324-337) reorganized the empire, made Constantinople the new capital, and legalized Christianity. For example, the Byzantine capital, Constantinople, was adorned with a large number of classical sculptures, although they eventually became an object of some puzzlement for its inhabitants. Constantinople became the largest city in the empire and a major commercial center, while the Western Roman Empire fell in 476 CE.
