1 janv. 1915 - Temperance and Prohibition

Description:

Temperance was a very controversial issue because urban progressives did not have much sympathy for this movement since political bosses were usually the ones that went to saloons, while rural reformers thought that getting rid of alcohol would solve many problems in politics and it would help with them having a change of morals. By 1915 the sale of alcohol was no longer available in the United States after the legislatures voted and 2/3 of them achieved the popular vote to get rid of alcohol.
